moving forward ..

started yesterday on moving things around for our big warehouse sale - November 5, 6 & 7 .. email me at junkexchange@gmail.com if you would like to be placed on our email notification list.. i will be sending out pics of things we uncover as we start unpacking and placing furniture and the like .. we got a lot of stuff moved out of the way .. but i got a few pics of the warehouse before we moved one thing and then i am taking some throughout the day as we progress along ..

we did have a slight mishap yesterday.. it was very windy here in central texas and the wind blew in and got behind a shutter door and blew it over catching our little minpin, Jax - on his tail ( he never had his tail clipped like other minpins) there was blood everywhere but he didn't seem to be too bothered by it, still we stopped working and rushed him to the vet, so now he has his little tail tip all bandaged - of course, he blames me - why i don't know, but he blames me everytime he hurts himself or for every loud noise -
this morning i was reading garden antqs vintage blog and thought i recognized a piece posted in one of her photos - sure enough it was a piece rod and i had worked on some years ago - that is a really neat feeling to see something you created worked so proudly in anothers booth .. as i was telling teresa of garden antqs vintage blog when we found the piece it was in pieces and headed for the trash heap at canton - rod glued it back together and replaced missing pieces.. i wallpapered the back and the door panels on the lower doors, we worked together placing the wire screen in the upper doors..the wood latch or catch on the lower doors i added - it wasn't there to begin with and we added the hinges as there were no hinges, luckily the ones we had were an almost perfect fit to the shadows of the old hinges - then we worked together distressing the piece..i love the wallpaper i used and have used it on other things, including hat boxes -

  2. Troy, this piece was Gloria's and I guess she did sell it to Linda. You did an awesome job on restoring it! Wish I had discovered ya'll when you set up at Hillcrest, but just glad I got to meet you and Rod this time. I am going to try really hard to make it to your sale. Have a great weekend, T

  6. Debra - I don't know what is happening, I didn't purposely stop following you and it is showing that I am following you - so not sure what is happening. Maybe it was a glitch, but just to be sure, I went to your blog, clicked 'follow' and it said I was already following you.
    Sorry.

  7. OK, this is wacky, my "followers" list has been goofy. Your back. Now I feel really dorky for even making a joke about it. I really DO have a life. Sorry. Hope your pup is feeling better today. You know sometimes my kids used to treat me the same way. If something went wrong it was automatically my fault!
